Life as a UBC Student

Anonymous asked: How important is volunteer work when it comes to acceptance in the Science program? Does UBC even look at volunteer work and extra-curriculars like sports, clubs, and work-experience? Thanks!

There’s the new “Personal Profile” now that every applicant to any program is required to fill out and it’s basically the portion of your application where you talk about your extracurricular activities. It used to be just marks, but not anymore, it started this year. I assume it’s pretty important as I’ve heard people being turned down by Science even though they had a 93% average.

Good luck!
